HARTFORD COUNTY FIRE EMERGENCY PLAN FIFTY-EIGHT ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR DECEASED FIREFIGHTERS

The Hartford County Fire Emergency Plan invites you to their Fifty-Eight Annual Memorial Service on Sunday October 5th ,2008. This year's Service will be hosted by the Wethersfield Fire Department.

Line up for the County Memorial Service will be at 1830 hours the line up will start at Wethersfield Fire Department Station One at 171 Main Street and a short march to the First Church of Christ 250 Main Street. Services at the First Church of Christ will start at 1900 hours. All Firefighters are requested to be in Class A uniform.

We are asking each Department whose members will be remembered in this years Service to invite the families of their deceased members.


MEMORIAL SERVICE'S AROUND HARTFORD COUNTY

The Annual State Firefighters Memorial service sponsored by the Connecticut State Firefighters Memorial Foundation will be held at 2PM on Sunday October 19th, 2008 at the Connecticut Fire Academy, 34 Perimeter Road, Windsor Locks, CT.

Sunday October 19th, 2008: Connecticut State Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service to be held at the CT. Fire Academy.

NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION WEEK OCTOBER 5th - 11th

October 5th marks the start of National Fire Prevention Week throughout the U.S. This year's theme focuses on "Prevent Home Fires!"

Your home should be a safe haven. But do you regularty check for home fires hazards? If not, there is the potential for danger. Fire departments responded to nearly 400,000 home fires in 2006.

From October 5-11, 2008 fire safety advocates will spread the word to their communities that with a little extra caution, preventing the leading causes of home fires-cooking, heating, electrical and smoking-materials-is within their power.

The 27th National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Weekend to be held on October 4 & 5, 2008. This event is held in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

HARTFORD COUNTY

East Berlin Fire Department took delivery of a American LaFrance Pumper Rescue 1,000 gallon tank.

South Kensington Fire Department took delivery of a Utility Vehicle Ford build by E-One.
